Wintering of the… Tank and hose circuit
Black water storage tank:
We will empty the tank, it may seem obvious but it is something that is often forgotten and it is not at all pleasant to return to the boat after a long winter and find it full of undesirable odors coming from the waste water tank.
What we recommend to avoid this trauma once we have emptied the tank for the first time, fill it a second time with preferably fresh water and we will add a dose of Adinet Wc Nautic , at a rate of 250ml per 80 litres of tank capacity, will be left to act for 8 hours (we can increase the dose depending on the dirtiness of the tank). The tank can be left full of water with Adinet until the next season. This way we ensure disinfection and a good smell on the boat.
Another option for cleaning “stubborn” tanks or when there is a lot of incrustation, we recommend using Clean Green Ref 512602 tablets, which have an effervescent effect. We must fill the tank with water and empty it completely, at least once. Then fill the tank again with water and where there are 6 cm left before it is full and pour in the tablet(s) (according to the proportion on the container). You can leave them for at least 8 hours.
Then empty the tank again. (Ask for information about them, they are not in the catalogue).
Hose circuit :
During the rest period in which the toilet will remain, bacteria can proliferate in the toilet bowl, pipes and storage tank. To inhibit them and disinfect the system, which we recommend to take full advantage of the benefits of the Adinet WC nautical is to pour 100ml of undiluted product directly into each toilet bowl. Keep in mind that you must first have emptied the toilet several times to empty the loading line. When temperatures are high, you can add more product to increase its effectiveness. Let the product act for at least 1/2 hour to be effective. It is also a good option to let it act in the hoses or in the tank for a week.
By using the Adinet WC Nautic We make the product clean paper scraps and residue, leaving everything in its path disinfected and odor-free (avoid using products that contain formaldehyde, they are highly polluting).
And what about the grey water tank or the hose and drain circuit?
The liquid coming from the drains of the washbasin and kitchen sink also contains agents with bacteria and produces bad odours (soap residue, grease, food particles).
This grease sticks to the walls of the pipes and the grey water tank. To avoid this and keep them clean during wintering, we recommend pouring 50ml. undiluted of Adinet Tank in each drain (shower, sink, etc.). In the kitchen, because it contains more fats and gives off more odours, we recommend pouring 100ml. This will prevent grease from oils and soaps from sticking to the walls of the pipes and the resulting bad odour. When temperatures are high, more product can be added to increase its effectiveness. We will let the product act for at least 1/2 hour, for it to be effective. It is also a good option to let it act in the hoses or in the tank for a week.
