Our @Duarry ISO 8 seater inflates in less than 30 seconds!!!
If one day you need to abandon the boat and use the raft, it will probably be in adverse sea conditions, i.e. wind, waves, flooding on board… Statistically, the other option is fire on board, i.e. smoke, flames, risk of explosion.
Anyway, in any case, once you have decided to launch your life raft, the sooner the better.
- Tie it to the boat before launching it,
- If you can, take your radio beacon,
- Grab that bag that we all carry prepared “just in case that day comes”, which should contain, for example, water, food, a cell phone, dry clothes, sunscreen…
In the video you can see that the interior and exterior lights turn on automatically when inflated and that there is a waterproof bag inside with the survival items for your navigation program in perfect condition, checked by our technician. During the checks, the strength of the seams of the floor and, of course, the inflation are also checked. The volume of the CO2 cylinders is calculated so that there is a small percentage left over and, in addition, the raft has overpressure valves in case gas needs to be released. Everything must work perfectly!!!
Also, very important, next to the entrance and in a sheath, is the blunt knife to cut the tail that connects you to the boat without risk of puncturing the raft.
We hope you don't need it, but if it does happen, you have to be prepared. Good bow!!!
