At Dahlberg we celebrate 50 years of dedication and commitment to nautical
Many of our clients and friends already know this: At Dahlberg we are celebrating . It all started thanks to Kjell Dahlberg, a yacht captain and Swedish by birth, who, due to life's circumstances, was placed in Mallorca by fate. In 1958 he had to transport a sailboat from Stockholm to San Remo and during that journey the boat broke down, having to make an obligatory stopover in Palma for repairs. Motivated by that stopover, he had to stay on the island for a year, during which time he would meet his future wife, the Mallorcan Rosa Coll. After a time in Sweden, the couple settled permanently in Mallorca where they started a family and created their own company.
In 1974 , with the vision and entrepreneurial spirit that characterized him, Kjell founded Dahlberg, a pioneering company in the repair and maintenance of yachts in Mallorca, whose workshop was initially located in the centre of Palma. In 1980, her daughter Margarita joined the company. After training in England at the prestigious B&G factory, she became the first woman to obtain the company's Official Technical Service certificate.
Ten years after its foundation, Dahlberg was incorporated as a limited company and the company's activity was concentrated on the repair and installation of B&G brand electronic equipment. In 1989, the company was divided into two large areas: on the one hand, the division electronics which also had the current technical director, Toni Lopera, on the other hand, the division of sanitation . Later, specialisation was also made in comfort on board and safety at sea.
An important turning point in Dahlberg's career was obtaining ISO 9001 quality certification in 2003, making it one of the first companies in the sector to do so. This accreditation enabled it to standardise work protocols and gain in efficiency.
In 2006 the company changed its headquarters , moving from the centre of Palma to the Son Rossinyol Business Park, from where the company supplied products and services to a multitude of shipyards in Spain.
It's been 50 years since Kjell founded his business in 1974. With an eye to the future, Margarita Dahlberg is at the head of the company , an example of a pioneering woman, knowledgeable about the sector, who has been working in the nautical industry since 1980, in addition to having represented and defended the sector as president of the Association of Nautical Companies of the Balearic Islands (AENIB).
Today, professionals with diverse profiles and roles linked to the technical, commercial, administrative, expansion and management departments work to successfully maneuver the great ship that is Dahlberg. A great team that has learned to contribute with an enthusiastic and innovative desire to the constant evolution and improvement of the service that Dahlberg offers its clients.
