At Dahlberg we celebrate 50 years of dedication and commitment to nautical
Many of our clients and friends already know it: In Dahlberg we are celebrating . It all started thanks to Kjell Dahlberg, a yacht captain and Swede by birth who, due to life circumstances, was placed in Mallorca. In 1958 he had to transport a sailboat from Stockholm to San Remo and on that journey the boat broke down, having to make an obligatory stopover in Palma to proceed with its repair. Motivated by that stop, he had to stay on the island for a year, during which he would meet his future wife, the Mallorcan Rosa Coll. After some time in Sweden, the couple settled permanently in Mallorca where they started a family and created their own company.
In 1974 , with the vision and entrepreneurial spirit that characterized him, Kjell founded Dahlberg, a pioneer company in the repair and maintenance of yachts in Mallorca, whose workshop was initially located in the center of Palma. In 1980, her daughter Margarita joined the company , and after training in England at the prestigious B&G factory, she became the first woman to obtain the company's Official Technical Service certificate.
Ten years after its founding, Dahlberg was incorporated as SA and the company's activity focused on the repair and installation of B&G brand electronic equipment. Already In 1989, the company was divided into two large areas: on the one hand, the division electronics which also had the current technical director, Toni Lopera, on the other, the division of sanitation . Later, they also opted to specialize in comfort on board and safety at sea.
An important turning point in Dahlberg's career was obtaining ISO 9001 quality certification in 2003, becoming one of the first companies in the sector to achieve this. This accreditation made it possible to standardize work protocols and gain efficiency.
In 2006 the company changed its headquarters , moving from the center of Palma to the Son Rossinyol Business Park, from where the company supplied products and services to a multitude of shipyards in Spain.
50 years have passed since Kjell founded his business in 1974. With the look set in the future, Margarita Dahlberg is at the head of the company , an example of a pioneering woman, knowledgeable in the sector, who has been working in the nautical industry since 1980, in addition to having represented and defended the sector as president of the Association of Nautical Companies of the Balearic Islands ( AENIB).
Today, professionals with various profiles and roles linked to the technical, commercial, administrative, expansion and management departments, work to maneuver the great ship that is Dahlberg. A great team that has learned to contribute with an enthusiastic and innovative desire to the evolution and constant improvement of the service that Dahlberg offers its clients.
