Wintering marine toilets part I.
There are several types of marine toilets: manual, electric, gravity and vacuum.
In this first part we talk about the electric toilets .
Starting with the toilet bowl, if there are dark or lime stains, we will apply a limescale or stain remover product to leave the bowl spotless. It must be a product that does not damage the joints and parts of the toilet. (salfuman should never be used)
Do not leave it with traces of salt water inside the machine, give it a few good washes with fresh water.
For thorough maintenance and wintering:
Try to disassemble the engine, remove the turbine closing cover, which is made of rubber, and clean the entire part that is in contact with the fresh/salt water, including the delivery tube.
During the rest period in which the toilet will remain, bacteria can proliferate in the bowl, in the pipes and in the storage tank. To inhibit them and disinfect the system, we recommend pouring ½ liter of a specific deodorant for cleaning black water directly into the toilet, we run the liquid with water in the system by flushing the toilet, in this way we will impregnate the hoses of the water line. unload and the product will clean up any remaining paper and waste, leaving everything in its path disinfected and odor-free. (Avoid using products that contain Formaldehyde).
