Tuning your boat…toilets and more
The start of the season is approaching, we can enjoy sailing all year round, but now is the right time to tune up our boats after the winter lethargy, to enjoy during the season. At Dahlberg we advise you to check and clean the following points of your blackwater system:
- toilet bowl
- Hose circuit
- Level sensors
- storage tank
The objective will be to avoid bad odors coming from the sewage system and toilets.
Marine toilet:
The cup of the bathroom: in the event that there are dark or lime stains, we will apply a descaling or stain remover product to leave the bowl spotless and mold-free. It must be a product that does not damage the joints and parts of the toilet (we should never use salfumán). Our technicians use the Adinet Cisternas product effective against limescale and does not damage rubber seals.
If we have Vacuflush vacuum toilets We will take into account that an accumulation of mineral deposits may have been generated under the edge of the rubber gasket of the bowl (which makes the system watertight). To clean it, always disconnect both the electricity supply and the water tap. Opening the plastic ball and using a cleaner non-abrasive, which removes limescale and eliminates stains, such as Sealand Toilet Bowl & Seal Cleaner , we will rub under and around the gasket. Next we will use a brush and water to clean the loose deposits. Remember not to use products with caustic components, as they can cause irreparable damage to the rubber seals.Hose circuit:
During the rest period of the toilet, bacteria may have been proliferating in the bowl, pipes and storage tank. To eliminate them, inhibit bad odors and disinfect the system, what we recommend using is the Adinet WC Nautic deodorant. To make the most of its benefits, it is best to pour 100 ml directly into each toilet bowl. of undiluted product. Taking into account that you must first have downloaded several times to empty the charging line. When temperatures are high, more product can be added to increase its effectiveness. We will let the product act for at least 1/2 hour, for it to be effective. It is also a good option to let it sit in the hoses or tank for a week.
By using the Adinet WC Nautic We make the product clean of paper scraps and waste, leaving everything in its path disinfected and odor-free. We must avoid using products that contain Formaldehyde, as they are very polluting. And this product is made with biodegradable surfactants, and is considered an “eco-friendly product.”
And what happens to the gray water tank or the hose and drain circuit?
The liquid from the drains of the sink and the kitchen sink also contain agents with bacteria and produce bad odors (soap residue, grease, food particles).
This grease adheres to the walls of the pipes and the gray water tank. To avoid this and leave them clean during the winter, we recommend pouring 50 ml. undiluted Adinet Tank in each drain (shower, sink, etc.). In the kitchen, because it contains more fat and gives off more odors, we recommend pouring 100 ml. This will prevent grease from oils and soaps from sticking to the walls of the pipes and causing a bad smell. When temperatures are high, more product can be added to increase its effectiveness. We will let the product act for at least 1/2 hour, for it to be effective. It is also a good option to let it sit in the hoses or tank for a week.
Level sensors:
We will access the sensors, clean them of debris and wash with descaler if necessary.
